Advisory Board

Prof. Dr. Adriaan Dorresteijn
Professor of Transnational Corporate Law - Utrecht University

Adriaan Dorresteijn studied private law at Utrecht University, whereat he defended his doctoral thesis too. Before joining the Utrecht faculty, Adriaan was an Associate Professor of Business Law at the University of Amsterdam, a Professor of Private Law at the Open University of the Netherlands and a Jean Monnet Professor of European Corporate Law at the University of Bielefed in Germany, while he also practiced as a corporate law adviser with Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC).

Adriaan served as the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance of Utrecht University from 2000 to 2008. He is currently the Director of the Legal Expertise Center of AKD (a mid-sized Dutch law firm) where he is in charge of legal knowledge management.


Prof. Dr. Kid Schwarz
Professor of Company Law - Maastricht University

Kid Schwarz read notarial law at Leiden University and Dutch law at the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam. He received his doctoral degree on the thesis ‘Blokkering van aandelen’ from Leiden University. Before joining the Maastricht Faculty, Kid was a company law advisor in a law firm, and a journalist and researcher in the area of voluntary organisations at the VU in Amsterdam.

In 1987 he started his tenure as a full Professor of Commercial and Corporate law at the Law Faculty of Maastricht University (UM). From September 1994 to September 1997, he was the Dean of the Law Faculty at Maastricht University. In 1995 he became President of the Board of Governors of the KNAW-recognised research institute Ius Commune.

Kid is an active NAI arbitrator and an ICC arbitrator, and since 2000, also a commercial mediator.


Prof. Dr. Daniel Stattin
Professor of Corporate and Private Law - Uppsala University

Daniel Stattin is Ordinarius Professor of Corporate Law and Huselius Professor of Private Law at Uppsala University. After completing his undergraduate degree in Uppsala, he became a research student in Lincoln College, University of Oxford and Uppsala University.

Daniel received his doctorate in 2005 from Uppsala University and publishes in corporate law, corporate governance and capital markets law. He regularly acts as a legal consultant to law firms, government agencies and other institutions.


Prof. Dr. Barbara De Donno
Professor of Comparative Private Law - LUISS Guido Carli 

Barbara De Donno received her law degree by the LUISS Guido Carli in 1987 in Rome, Italy and was admitted to practice in Rome, Italy in 1990. She is a Member of the National Commission for the Environmental Assessment EIA, of the Italian Association of Comparative Law and of the Cercle des Comparatistes du Droit des Affaires et de la Finance.

She is the author of several books, essays, articles, entries in Law Dictionaries and Encyclopaedias and notes in the field of Italian, European and International Business Law and of Private Comparative Law.


Dr. Arkadiusz Radwan
President - ALLERHAND INSTITUTE of Advanced Legal Studies

Arkadiusz Radwan is a member of ICLEG, Attorney-at-Law (adwokat) admitted to the Bar in Poland and affiliated with one of the leading Polish law firms specialised in litigation and business law.

Arkadiusz has been a frequent speaker at international conferences and public hearings representing Poland in debates, expert groups, studies and consultations related to company law and corporate governance. The output was utilised for policy development and legislation by i.a. the European Commission, the European Parliament, Polish Parliament, various Polish Ministries and governmental agencies.

In 2014 Arkadiusz worked as a team leader of a study project commissioned by the EU Delegation in Kiev to assess the approximation level of Ukrainian company law to EU standards and practices – an undertaking to provide recommendations on company law reform in Ukraine.

A leading Polish business daily “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna” included Dr Radwan on their list of “50 Most Influential Lawyers in Poland” (ranked 24th in the 2013 Ed., and 40th in the 2015 Ed.).
